Pastor: Rev. Mikayla Kovacik
Imposition of Ashes
Ash Wednesday emphasizes a dual encounter: we confront our own mortality and confess our sin before God within the community of faith. We also consider the dual themes of sin and death in the light of God’s redeeming love in Jesus Christ. The use of ashes serves as a sign of mortality and repentance. The Imposition of Ashes is a powerful nonverbal and experiential way of participating in the call to repentance and reconciliation. Receiving the imposition of ashes is a way to begin the season of Lent and to prioritize our focus on spiritual renewal and our relationship with God.
On February 26, 2020, Ash Wednesday Rev. Mikayla will be offering the Imposition of Ashes at the following times and places.
