Join us on Sunday evenings, starting on September 18 at 6:30. We’ll meet in the Craft Room—in the original building, Rm 110. Color and prayer is a way of incorporating intercessory prayer into our daily lives. We pray for others as we have fun choosing colors and coloring. Soft music, unscented votive candles and our supportive church family all help to create a prayerful
No coloring pencils---no problem, we have them! Allergic to the smoke from candles?—no problem, but please let me know so that we’ll use battery operated votives. Need something to color?---we have lots of things to color. Don’t know anybody? You may enter not knowing anyone, but you will have new friends within a few minutes. We usually color and pray for just over one hour.
Please ask Rev. Linda if you have any questions!
We all remember the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001. Even those who were not yet born, feel our national sadness as we remember 911. Pleasant Hills will offer a prayer service on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. to pray, meditate, and grieve together. This service will last about 40 minutes. Please plan to attend. It has been 15 years since that day and we need to pay tribute to the heroes, remember those who were lost, pray for those who survived, and think about how this historic event changed us as a nation and touched our hearts and souls as individuals.
Grief Support Group—On Wednesday, evenings at 7 p.m. in the church office. Who is it for? Anyone who has experienced grief - at any time in their lives - and feels the need to share and talk to others about their experiences and emotions. We will meet for an hour, with light refreshments served at the meeting. It's FREE. Opened to all. Bring others you feel may benefit.
Join us on our JOURNEY! We are have a NEW SHORTER SERVICE CALLED JOURNEY. The service starts at 9 a.m. and ends at 9:30. It’s not a contemporary service, but rather an earlier option for those who have to work on Sundays, or who have other plans with family that day. Journey takes place while others are in Sunday School. Our nursery and children’s programs have not changed and we still offer an adult Sunday School class, led by Jan Bower.
Journey is another option for anyone on Sunday mornings. The service will be more informal, the sermon will be different than the one at our 10:30 service, and the format will be simpler: Hymn, Prayers, Scripture Reading, Message, Closing Hymn. David Powers is working on some special music for this service - so there may be a soloist or a different instrument occasionally.
After JOURNEY, Rob Arnold hosts an informal coffee fellowship so that those who come to JOURNEY will get an opportunity to mingle with those coming to our regular worship service. This is an adventure in the practice of meaningful worship and will help those whose schedules don’t allow a later service.
So JOURNEY with us!
